Our Story

In 2015, a young Sri Lankan dreamer started with one rented bed and a vision: to bring the world to his doorstep. When the pandemic struck, he opened his arms instead of closing doors—lowering prices, helping stranded travelers, and sheltering guests sent by embassies. In those challenging days, fate brought him the love of his life on a blue train, a world-record skater who shared his dream. Together, they transformed Seconds into more than a hostel—it’s now a family of stays across Sri Lanka, built on care, resilience, and love. We hope you find a little love within Seconds too.

What a great place to stay in Colombo! The spaces are always clean and there are multiple common areas to choose from, each with its own vibe. There’s a pool and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with great music always playing in the background throughout the day. The bathrooms are spacious and the rooms have large storage cabins and curtains for added privacy.
What truly sets this hostel apart though, is the people: the staff are incredibly kind, friendly and always willing to help.
I highly recommend staying here!

Had a wonderful stay with seconds, the young staff from the front desk to kitchen was very friendly and made sure everyone had a comfortable stay. The place was always clean and the food was amazing. I highly recommend seconds to anyone to stay or hangout over drinks and dinner ;)
